Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport was previously called as Sahar International Airport. It is the primary international Airport in Mumbai, named after Maratha Emperor, Chhatrapati Shivaji Bhosle. The IATA code of this Airport is BOM, derived from Mumbai's former name, "Bombay".
Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport is the busiest Airport in India in terms of International passenger traffic and is South Asia's second busiest in terms of overall passenger traffic. This Airport handled around 29.9 million passengers and 670,235 tonnes of cargo in 2010-2011. The operational area of this Airport is spread around 1,450 acres and have five operating terminals.
